With a 40% year-over-year growth in user registrations, the platform has become a go-to destination for tennis players looking to improve their skills and expand their network.

As an organization looking to become AI-native, Liga Tennis partnered with Neurons Lab to identify, evaluate, and prototype Generative AI use cases that would unlock strategic value while de-risking future investments. The primary focus was to enhance user experience by making their booking system more user-friendly and accessible through AI integration.

Challenges

Liga Tennis faced several challenges with their existing platform:

  1. Complex booking process: Users needed to manually search for available slots, which was time-consuming and created friction in the user experience.
  2. Limited accessibility: The platform required users to navigate through multiple screens and interfaces to complete bookings.
  3. Technical uncertainty: With various AI initiatives available, Liga Tennis needed expert guidance to select the most appropriate technology stack and implementation approach.
  4. Infrastructure decisions: The organization was considering migrating to AWS and required assessment of infrastructure costs, comparative analysis with their current solution, and exploration of AWS credit opportunities.
  5. ROI visibility: As with any new technology implementation, Liga Tennis needed clarity on the potential return on investment before committing resources to full-scale deployment.

Solution

Neurons Lab implemented a comprehensive GenAI solution following our AI Implementation Framework, which covered the complete AI spectrum from leadership alignment to technology integration:

GenAI Feasibility Assessment

  • Conducted a kick-off meeting with stakeholders to establish expectations and communication plans
  • Provided educational materials on Generative AI concepts in Q&A format
  • Interviewed participants to identify challenges and pain points
  • Developed a prioritized list of business challenges and potential GenAI use cases
  • Validated opportunities with stakeholders and calculated expected ROI
  • Selected the WhatsApp-based booking agent for the Proof of Concept implementation

Agentic AI WhatsApp Interface

After thorough assessment, Neurons Lab created an Agentic AI solution with WhatsApp as the point of contact that:

  • Helps clients search for available tennis venues and courts
  • Provides real-time information on availability
  • Understands and remembers user preferences
  • Enables booking of courts and classes through natural language conversation

Technical Implementation

The solution was built on a robust AWS architecture:

  • AWS Bedrock as the AI core for natural language processing and understanding
  • Elastic Cache for storing and retrieving chat history
  • AWS Fargate with load balancer to distribute the solution efficiently
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for quick build and deployment processes
  • CI/CD pipeline to deploy the solution as Infrastructure as Code

Throughout the implementation, our team of Principal Data Scientists, AI Product Managers, AI Delivery Managers, and MLOps Engineers worked collaboratively with Liga Tennis to ensure the solution met all specified requirements and acceptance criteria.

Results

The agentic AI booking system transformed the user experience for Liga Tennis players:

  1. Dramatic time savings: Reduced the time to search for available slots from several minutes to less than one minute, with all necessary information pre-filled.
  2. Enhanced user experience: Players can now book courts through familiar WhatsApp interfaces using natural language, eliminating the need to navigate complex booking screens.
  3. Personalized recommendations: The AI remembers user preferences and can suggest appropriate venues and time slots based on previous interactions.
  4. Operational efficiency: By automating the booking process, Liga Tennis can operate more efficiently with reduced administrative overhead.
